LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (September 2026) – YESCO, the 106-year-old company known for creating, repairing and maintaining internationally recognizable signs, announces the completion of the Lake Elsinore Gateway Project, a multi-structure installation designed to welcome visitors to historic downtown Lake Elsinore, California.
Commissioned by the City of Lake Elsinore, the project included the engineering, permitting, fabrication and installation of three distinct gateway elements: a primary over-the-road gateway sign, a secondary monument sign and a tertiary post sign. Together, the structures establish a cohesive visual identity for Main Street while honoring the area’s historic significance and connection to California Route 395, a once-critical corridor linking Mexico, the United States and Canada.
The primary gateway sign spans 58 feet in width and rises 23 feet 6 inches high, creating a prominent architectural feature across the roadway. Complementing the main structure, the secondary monument stands 24 feet tall, while the tertiary post sign reaches 12 feet in height, reinforcing wayfinding and historical context throughout the corridor.
Designed in collaboration with Hunt Design and David Evans and Associates, the project blends thoughtful aesthetics with structural precision. YESCO led the structural design, permitting, fabrication and installation, while South Coast Lighting and Design contributed custom fluted aluminum columns featuring a two-piece sleeve system and “tenon” mount for streamlined installation and long-term durability.
Beyond its architectural presence, the gateway project serves as a symbolic marker of Lake Elsinore’s continued growth and revitalization. The installation highlights the city’s historic downtown, known for its artisan shops, locally owned restaurants and preserved buildings, while also acknowledging recent civic investments, including a new city hall and public library.
“Gateway signs carry a distinct responsibility – they’re often the first impression of a community and a reflection of its identity,” said Jeff Young, chief revenue officer, YESCO. “We take great pride in creating these landmarks for historic towns such as Lake Elsinore, helping define a sense of place while honoring the stories that make each destination unique.”
