OAKLAND (August 2022) – Emporium Arcade Bar, the East Bay’s premier destination for classic arcade games, local craft beers, hand-crafted cocktails, DJ nights and more, announces the highly anticipated opening of the all-vegan Taqueria La Venganza inside of its Oakland location. Now open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. the plant-based pop-up offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes and other tempting bites.

Featuring tacos, burritos and nachos, dishes include the choice of soy-based carne asada, soy-based carnitas or cauliflower al pastor. Other menu items include chicken-fried corn and plant-based shrimp empanadas. Fresh ingredients are marinated in special blends of seasonings to give each dish the authentic taste of classic Mexican cuisine.

“Taqueria La Venganza is known for serving the best vegan Mexican food in California so we are beyond excited to have them join us at our Oakland location,” said Steve Funkhouser, regional general manager, Emporium Arcade Bar. “Many of our customers enjoy plant-based dining options so we know our guests will love these tempting dishes.”

Guests must be 21 years or older to enter. To learn more about Emporium Arcade Bar Oakland, visit www.emporiumarcadebar.com.

ABOUT TAQUERIA LA VENGANZA
Before moving to the United States and becoming vegan, Chef Raul Medina recalls butchering chickens in Mexico. At one point, he declared he could no longer continue to kill animals for food and began a vegetarian diet. After realizing how processed cheese is in the U.S., Medina also gave up dairy products and switched to a fully plant-based diet. Tired of the lack of vegan Mexican options in the Bay Area, Medina began his first pop-up in Downtown Oakland. Since then, he’s quit his full-time job as an immigration defense attorney to pursue creating authentic vegan Mexican dishes full time. Today, Medina experiments with various pop-ups in Santa Ana, Oakland and Los Angeles, California. Medina also won best taco – meat or vegan – at the Los Angeles “Taco Madness” competition in 2018. For more information, visit venganzafoods.com or follow @thevegantaqueria.
