LAS VEGAS (June 2023) – Pompey Entertainment, the Las Vegas-born company offering focused expertise in entertainment to the city’s most premier artists, shows and venues, announces Sylvia Welsh as its new group sales lead.

With extensive experience in the hospitality industry and a proven track record of success across 20 years in group travel, special events and meeting planning, Welsh is poised to lead Pompey Entertainment’s group sales efforts and drive business growth. In her current position, Welsh oversees all Pompey Entertainment shows and increasing venue rentals for the entertainment company’s restaurants and spaces. She seeks to continue to increase group sales and venue rentals by 50% within the next six months.

Prior to joining Pompey Entertainment, Welsh spent the last 13 years serving as the president of Downtown DMC where she worked with clients to promote products and services to travel agents and the meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions communities. Her dedication to making special occasions memorable for attendees has been the driving force behind her successful career. She is deeply passionate about creating unforgettable experiences and has built a reputation for her exceptional customer service and attention to detail.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Skål International (SKAL) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI). This commitment to professional development ensures that she remains at the forefront of the ever-evolving hospitality landscape.

Originally from the greater Chicago area, Welsh moved to Las Vegas in 2010 and has called the city home ever since. She holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Northeastern Illinois University.
