LAS VEGAS (January 2026) – The National Atomic Testing Museum will celebrate “Atomic Frontier Day” on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors to the museum can explore its collection of exhibits revealing the history of atomic testing and its impact on society, including its new “World of Fallout™” exhibit produced in partnership with Bethesda Softworks. Guests will also enjoy a special film screening and two exclusive presentations. The schedule of the day’s events follows:
11 a.m.: Join a screening of “The Nevada Town That Witnessed a Hollywood Tragedy,” highlighting the history of Goodsprings, Nevada, a prominent location featured in the video game Fallout: New Vegas. A discussion and Q&A session with Nevada historian Mark Hall-Patton will follow the screening.
12 p.m.: Meet the UNLV team that designed and built key features of the “World of Fallout” exhibit, which explores the cultural legacy of nuclear history through the lens of the iconic video game franchise. The exhibit draws connections between real-world atomic testing, Cold War themes and the imaginative post-apocalyptic world of Fallout. Hear firsthand how students developed their fabrication skills to bring digital game assets from the Fallout universe into the physical world.
1 p.m.: Hear stories from former test site worker Martha DeMarre about her time spent at the Nevada Test Site and how it became home to the U.S. nuclear testing program.
In addition, Fallout’s famous Vault Boy will make a special appearance for photo opportunities at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., offering fans a chance to capture a memorable moment with one of pop culture’s most recognizable, atomic-age mascots.
The event is included with Museum admission. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit atomicmuseum.vegas.
