National Atomic Testing Museum Announces July, August Happenings

LAS VEGAS (July 2026) – The National Atomic Testing Museum announces upcoming happenings for July and August. Guests can look forward to distinctive events, including the museum’s next Fallout-themed Atomic Stories program as well as a Japanese cultural event. The museum will also offer admission specials this summer, including $5 off tickets for guests donating school supplies to Project 150 and free admission for active-duty military on Saturday, Aug. 15. Back-to-School Supply Drive for Project 150

Dates: Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 24
Times: School supplies may be donated during regular hours of operation from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday.
Price: Guests receive $5 off a general admission ticket when they bring a donation to the museum.
Description: The National Atomic Testing Museum invites the community to support Project 150 by dropping off new school supplies. As a thank you for helping homeless, displaced and disadvantaged teens get the tools they need to succeed this school year, the museum will offer visitors $5 off a general admission ticket when they drop off their donations. Preferred donations include:

  • College-ruled spiral and composition notebooks and loose-leaf paper
  • One- and two-inch binders
  • 8GB flash drives
  • Erasers
  • Dividers
  • Post-its
  • Heavy duty teen backpacks
  • Black and blue ink pens
  • Highlighters
  • Pocket folders
  • Binder pouches 
  • Colored pencils
  • Index cards
  • Markers

Atomic Stories: Out of the Vault and into Reality

Date: Saturday, Aug. 1
Time: 1 p.m.

Description: Chris Barnardo, co-founder of The Wand Company and author of “Advances in the Art of Being,” will present “Out of the Vault and into Reality” during a distinctive Atomic Stories presentation. Guests can look forward to Barnardo discussing the art, engineering and innovation behind premium collectibles, including the highly detailed Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas Pip-Boy 3000 replicas. Attendees will also be automatically entered into a giveaway to win a brand-new Pip-Boy 3000, with entry included with museum admission and attendance at the presentation. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the event. Please note: Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Taiko & Traditions: A Day of Japanese Arts

Date: Saturday, Aug. 8
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Description: Guests are invited to experience a celebration of Japanese culture. The day will feature Taido drum performances, a traditional Tendo Baikoki dance demonstration and hands-on activity stations where visitors can explore Japanese calligraphy, origami folding and introductory Japanese language learning. This family-friendly event offers an engaging blend of music, movement and creative cultural discovery. 

Complimentary Museum Admission for Active-Duty Military

Date: Saturday, Aug. 15
Time: Museum hours on Saturday are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (box office closes at 5:15 p.m.)
Price: Active-duty military member or spouse with a valid I.D. will receive one complimentary general admission ticket. Additionally, they will also receive 10% off tickets for up to four dependent children.
Description: Each month, the National Atomic Testing Museum will provide complimentary admission to various groups in the Las Vegas community. As a thank you to the men and women actively serving in the U.S. military, the museum will offer complimentary admission on Saturday, Aug. 15. Spouses of active-duty members may also present their valid I.D. for complementary admission when their sponsor is deployed or assigned to temporary duty outside the local area. The offer also includes 10% off tickets for up to four dependent children. These offers may be redeemed at the museum box office.

Project 150 is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting and empowering high school students experiencing homelessness or challenging circumstances in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada.
