MINUS5º ICEBAR AT THE LINQ PROMENADE ANNOUNCES NEW ICE
CONSTRUCTION BEGINNING SUNDAY, APRIL 16

New Themes Include Astrology, Deep Sea Fishing, Jurassic Displays

LAS VEGAS (April 2023) – New ice construction inside Minus5º ICEBAR at The LINQ Promenade will begin on Sunday, April 16. When completed on Saturday, April 22, the attraction located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip will feature new ice themes, including astrology, deep sea fishing and a Jurassic display.

The ICEBAR’s astrology display will include all 12 zodiac signs while the deep sea fishing wall will feature an elaborate replica-in-ice of the stern of a charter boat complete with a fighting chair and a large billfish on the fishing line. Lastly, the Jurassic wall will showcase a Tyrannosaurus rex ice sculpture, classic Jeep rendition and jungle foliage.

The new displays will be created by master ice carvers Dan “Hollywood” Rebholz and Austin Greenleaf. With more than 38 years of experience, Rebholz has won multiple international ice carving championship titles. In addition, he was also part of the Olympic ice carving team in 2002 and 2006. His work has been featured on the Discovery Channel and Food Network.

Greenleaf has carved ice sculptures for monumental events, including Minnesota Vikings games and major league football’s annual big game. He now serves as Minus5º ICEBAR’s in-house executive ice sculptor, where he assists in designing and executing the rotating ice displays at the three Las Vegas locations.

New blocks of ice will be used in the construction, and each ice block weighs 250 pounds, requiring four men to lift and hoist it into place. Prior to arriving in Las Vegas, the ice was created by utilizing a special process that removes all air bubbles, resulting in the clearest ice possible.

“We are passionate about coming up with creative ideas for new ice displays our guests will love and know these three new themes will be a hit,” said Noel Bowman, owner, Minus5º ICEBAR. “As one of the best attractions in the city for social media content creators, we love to cater to our visitors and create themes we know they’ll want to photograph.”

The new construction represents part of Minus5º ICEBAR’s quarterly Staying COOL re-theming program to keep the experience fresh for guests.

Media interested in taking photos or videos of the new ice displays are recommended to visit after April 19. Media must email Vanessa Thill at vanessa@thevoxagency.com and all photo and video shoots must be scheduled in advance.
