LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (April 2024) – Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) invites adventure-seekers to discover the awe-inspiring beauty of the night sky at their Temple Bar Marina and Echo Bay RV Park locations, renowned for their dark night skies and extraordinary stargazing opportunities.

Nestled along the eastern shores of Lake Mead just 90 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Temple Bar Marina boasts a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. With 22 guest rooms, visitors can choose motel accommodations or cozy cabins, including lake views for select lodging.

For those eager to explore the water during the day, pontoon boats, ski boats, kayaks and other watercraft rentals are available. Temple Bar’s appeal also extends beyond the water, ensuring there’s something for all visitors to enjoy alongside stargazing. Activities include basketball, hiking, horseshoes and dirt trails ideal to explore on 4×4 vehicles. Here, sightseers can view old mines, petroglyphs and the wild horses that call the area home.

Echo Bay RV Park, located on the north end of Lake Mead one hour and 15 minutes from the Strip, also offers a tranquil retreat with 55 RV sites, including power, water, restrooms, showers and sewer hookups. The convenience of Wi-Fi and a small mini-mart as well as access to propane, laundry facilities and a gas station ensure a comfortable stay for visitors. Additionally, Echo Bay’s proximity to the nearby boat launch ramp as well as the breathtaking Valley of Fire State Park provides an opportunity for daytime exploration before returning to bask in the splendor of the starry night sky.

“Despite their convenient proximity to the vibrant lights of Las Vegas, Temple Bar and Echo Bay are situated in secluded locations that provide some of the most outstanding stargazing opportunities in the Southwestern United States,” said Chad Taylor, director of marketing and guest experience, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures.

Cabin accommodations at Temple Bar begin at $65 per night, RV sites can be reserved for $35 per night and pontoon boat rentals start at $150 for two hours. At Echo Bay, RV sites can be reserved starting at $33 per night. For more information and reservations, visit lakemeadmohaveadventures.com
