LAS VEGAS (June 2023) AREA15 announces its newest eatery, Kaia Handroll, is now open inside the immersive art and entertainment District. Offering a vibrant, modern take on sushi handrolls inspired by traditional Japanese flavors and techniques, the destination joins AREA15’s current roster of out-of-this-world cuisine and cocktails.

Meaning “of the sea,” Kaia offers an array of fresh handroll selections and chef pairings, including specialties such as lobster truffle, blue crab and bluefin tuna as well as classic and vegetarian options crafted by head chef Joseph Soto and sous chefs Juan Laguana and Christopher Soldivieri. Prior to Kaia Handroll, Chef Soto was with Kaizen Sushi and Momo Sushi.

Guests can also savor seasonal sashimi and starters such as the Japanese Caesar salad with furikake-parm crisp. Dessert includes several varieties of mochi and Ube cheesecake with passionfruit caramel. Libations span Japanese classics, including hot green tea and sake, as well as Japanese beer and whiskey. For guests wishing to order food on the go, Kaia also offers select to-go items, including chirashi bowls with rice, fish and vegetables.

Drawing inspiration from water’s eminent strength, the space also features a full wall of AI-generated artwork depicting powerful female characters, water-inspired décor and countertop bar seating. Combining augmented reality (AR) technology with the dining experience, guests can also use their cell phones to activate a unique AR moment on Kaia’s menus. Computer-generated characters, including Kaia and sea creatures, will spring to life on the physical menu after guests download an app and scan a code.

Kaia Handroll is located in the center of AREA15’s SPINE directly across from Oddwood Bar and next The Beast by Todd English. Kaia Handroll joins AREA15’s existing lineup of unique and immersive food and beverage offerings throughout the District, including The Beast by Todd English, Lumin Café by Elizabeth Blau inside Illuminarium, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Lost Spirits Distillery, Datamosh inside Omega Mart, LIFTOFF Bar & Ride and Oddwood Bar, Dream Weaver Milk & Boba Bar and Rocket Fizz candy shoppe.

Kaia Handroll is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.  For more information on AREA15’s current food and beverage offerings, visit
