LAS VEGAS (October 2019) – For the first time, The Underground at The Mob Museum will make its house-distilled, corn-mash original Moonshine available for off-premise sales in Nevada in collaboration with distributor Johnson Brothers. Lee’s Liquor is eager to carry the moonshine in both 750-mL and 50-mL quantities at all 19 of its stores beginning Friday, Oct. 18.

“Lee’s Discount Liquor, an icon of Las Vegas, as is The Mob Museum, is excited to partner with the Museum by now offering Moonshine to our Las Vegas and tourist clients. We are excited for the opportunity to help promote Las Vegas and its history,” said Kenny Lee president of Lee’s Discount Liquor.

Other retailers, bars and restaurants will be announced soon.

Made from a single ingredient – 100-percent yellow corn – The Mob Museum’s Moonshine uses no additional sugar in the distillation. This process prevents harsh flavors from developing, creating the highest-quality, smoothest spirit possible. Bottled at 50-percent ABV, the Moonshine carries distinctively appealing notes of buttery, sweet popcorn.

“With an in-house distillery, The Underground at The Mob Museum has a distinctive asset, allowing us to provide our visitors with literally a taste of Prohibition history,” said Jonathan Ullman, president and chief executive officer of The Mob Museum. “Our craft-made Moonshine has been extremely popular with guests visiting the Museum and we’re enthusiastic about being able to reach new and larger audiences through off-site sales. In fact, some of the 750-mL jars of our authentic Moonshine will come with a $5 voucher good toward Museum admission.”

“We are so proud to be appointed as official distributor of The Mob Museum Moonshine. The product is outstanding and it couldn’t be any more authentic since it is literally made in the distillery of the Museum in small, artisan batches,” said Gary Charmel, regional president of Johnson Brothers. “It is everything a craft spirit should be. We are delighted to be working with the Museum on this venture.”

The Museum’s Moonshine is crafted in The Underground in a custom-made artisan copper-pot still situated in the distillery. The system distills 100-percent corn-mash Moonshine, which is available at the speakeasy bar and for sale in The Underground.

Visitors looking to learn more about the distilling process and for an authentic 1920s experience should visit The Underground speakeasy. In addition to house-distilled moonshine, the elegant bar also serves house-brewed craft beer as well as tempting Prohibition-era inspired cocktails, seasonal blends of moonshine, wines by the glass and non-alcoholic drinks. The speakeasy offers food, happy hour and free live jazz.
