LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (January 2024) – Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) announces its popular Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures will return to its full operational schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Returning for its historic 41st season, visitors will have the opportunity to take the Hoover Dam Raft Tour and Hoover Dam Postcard Tour every Wednesday through Sunday beginning that day.

Guests embarking on the Hoover Dam Raft Tours during opening weekend (Wednesday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 3) will also be treated to chef Lynn’s lake-famous gourmet cinnamon rolls at check in time. Additionally, LMMA will be giving away exciting prizes during check-in for both tours.

Offering memorable excursions along the Black Canyon National Water Trail on the majestic Colorado River, all tours feature up-close photo opportunities at the base of the legendary Hoover Dam beneath the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge—the widest single-arch concrete bridge in the Western Hemisphere.  Visitors enjoy a journey down the Colorado River while riding motor-assisted, inflatable rafts through the spectacular Black Canyon. Expert guides share their knowledge of this magnificent geological area and its native fauna, including the desert bighorn sheep, osprey and great blue heron.

Available 2024 rafting tours include:

Hoover Dam Raft Tour: This day trip experience includes stops along the shore below Hoover Dam where guests can relax among the clear and calm waters of the Colorado River. Guests begin their journey at Lake Mead RV Village for check in at 9:30 a.m. before embarking on an adventure-packed three-hour rafting tour. While rafting along the Colorado River, guests receive a lunch, including a turkey wrap, chips, fruit, a cookie and water or a special gluten-free or vegetarian meal catered by request. Visitors end their rafting journey at Willow Beach Marina & Campground, where they’ll board air-conditioned tour buses for the return trip over the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge back to Lake Mead RV Village. This tour is free for children 4 and under and starts at $110 for children ages 5 to 15 and $125 for guests 16 years or older. Adult admission does not include the $15 National Park entrance fee. For adult passengers holding National Park, Golden Age, Eagle or Access passes, the $15 entry fee will be waived. Round-trip transportation to and from Las Vegas hotels is also available for $69 per person.

Hoover Dam Postcard Raft Tour: For visitors who have limited time to spend on the water, the Hoover Dam Postcard Raft Tour offers an expedited experience of the Hoover Dam and Colorado River. Guests begin their journey at the Hoover Dam Lodge in Boulder City, Nevada, for check in at 10:30 a.m. before embarking on a 1.5-hour journey along the Colorado River. Guests enjoy up-close views of the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge while rafting along the Colorado River at the base of the Hoover Dam before boarding tour buses back to the Hoover Dam Lodge. This tour is free for children 4 and under and starts at $49 for children ages 5 to 15 and $69 for guests 16 years or older. Snacks and beverages are included. This season, round-trip transportation to and from select Las Vegas hotels is also available for $55 per person for Postcard Tour guests.

In addition, Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures offers private and customizable charters for small and large groups. This is the perfect excursion for expositions, conferences and conventions. Starting at $1,725, private rafting tours allow guests to choose their preferred departure time, explore Black Canyon with a private raft and dedicated tour guide and enjoy their choice of drinks and snacks or a catered lunch at Willow Beach Marina & Campground.

“For more than four decades, these tours have provided countless visitors with premier views of the Hoover Dam and Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge,” said Chad Taylor, director of marketing and guest experience, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures. “From first time rafters to guests returning season after season, Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures guarantees to provide visitors with lifelong memories.”
