LAS VEGAS (Oct. 8, 2026) – AREA15, the world’s first purpose-built destination for immersive entertainment located parallel to the Las Vegas Strip, announces Altair Sky Lounge is now available for private group bookings. Offering a repurposed Boeing 747 as its centerpiece, the first-of-its-kind venue gives planners a flexible indoor-outdoor canvas for convention receptions, brand activations, incentive groups, product launches, executive dinners, awards receptions, customer appreciation events, sponsor activations, afterparties and more. Four distinctive environments accommodate groups ranging from intimate 150-person ultra-VIP experiences to 600-person activations and full-venue buyouts for 800+ guests, with opportunities to extend events across AREA15 for full campus progressive experiences.
Designed for planners searching for something that’s impossible to replicate in conventional ballrooms and event spaces, AREA15’s incomparable new venue offers focused gatherings in individual spaces or a cohesive event journey across an aircraft fuselage, rooftop viewing deck and surrounding open-air plaza. At Altair Sky Lounge, a welcome reception can unfold beneath the repurposed Boeing 747, an executive gathering can take place inside the aircraft itself or a rooftop reception overlooking the Las Vegas Strip can occur during the striking golden hour.
Conceived by AREA15’s internal studio under the direction of CEO Winston Fisher, in collaboration with global architecture and design firm Gensler and creative partner Beneville Studios, Altair Sky Lounge preserves elements of the aircraft’s history while introducing a retro-futurist design inspired by the glamour and aspirational optimism of aviation’s golden age.
The exclusive Jet Room, located inside the aircraft’s cockpit and cabin, offers original elements of the Boeing 747 that are thoughtfully integrated into the sophisticated lounge and ultra-VIP environment for up to 150 guests standing or 80 seated. Inspired by the fantasy of flight and the elegance of mid-century air travel, brushed metal surfaces catch low, ambient light while tailored upholstery and warm finishes soften the space. Deep blues and sky-toned hues settle into leather-inspired browns and metallic accents, creating a palette that shifts subtly as the evening progresses. Stepping inside the space invites guests to see themselves as part of a more glamorous era: one where time slows, elegance returns and the journey is just as memorable as the destination.
Additional spaces, which may be booked individually, combined to create a progressive event or incorporated into a full-venue experience for 800+ guests, include:
- Arrivals Room – This second-floor indoor bar designed for more intimate gatherings and transitions between event moments. Holds a capacity for up to 80 guests standing and 50 seated.
- Departures Deck – An open-air rooftop deck offering elevated views of the Las Vegas Strip. Holds up to 200 guests standing and 100 seated.
- Runway Plaza – This outdoor space, situated beneath the aircraft in the heart of Zone 2, is designed for large-scale gatherings and activations. Holds a capacity for up to 600 guests standing and 200 seated.
Altair Sky Lounge is also designed to support branded moments throughout events, including receptions, entertainment, step-and-repeat and photo opportunities, sponsor activations and progressive guest movement across its indoor and outdoor environments.
The private event culinary program, developed in partnership with Carver Road Hospitality, is designed for receptions, cocktail-forward events, executive gatherings and brand activations, with passed bites, elevated small plates, premium bar packages, zero-proof options, champagne moments and custom menu development available by event format.
“Planners are constantly looking for ways to make an event feel distinctive to Las Vegas, and that means finding something beyond a typical ballroom,” said Kelly Campbell Smolen, vice president of corporate sales/event strategy, AREA15. “Altair Sky Lounge gives them an entirely different canvas: an actual Boeing 747 with rooftop views, indoor and outdoor environments and the ability to move guests through multiple experiences in one venue. The setting becomes just as much a part of the experience as the event itself.”
Events held at Altair Sky Lounge can also incorporate the broader AREA15 ecosystem, allowing groups to pair the venue with additional event spaces and immersive experiences throughout Zone 2: The Terminals and the wider 30-acre district. Nearby experiences, including Museum of Ice Cream, the towering Eye Dropper psychedelic thrill ride, Universal Horror Unleashed and more, create opportunities to expand a single Altair gathering into a progressive campuswide event, giving planners additional flexibility in both scale and programming.
From VIP receptions and executive gatherings to product launches, incentive events, afterparties, milestone celebrations and large-scale brand activations, Altair Sky Lounge introduces a never-before-seen event format to Las Vegas: one built around movement, multiple environments and an aircraft that becomes part of the experience itself.
