AREA15 TO HOST RIBBON CUTTING FOR GRAND OPENING OF KAIA HANDROLL, THURSDAY, JUNE 22

Event to Include AI-Generated Artwork Coming to Life 

WHAT:
On Thursday, June 22, media are invited to attend the official ribbon cutting for Kaia Handroll at AREA15. The destination, which includes eye-catching artwork produced by AI, will also unveil its key figure, Kaia, as she transforms from a computer-generated image into a 7-foot-tall physical character. Kaia’s elongated hair ribbon will also double as the official ribbon to be cut by AREA15 Chief Operating Officer Dan Pelson and the restaurant’s head chef, Joseph Soto. 

Following its official opening, Kaia will offer a vibrant, modern take on sushi handrolls inspired by traditional Japanese flavors and techniques. Meaning “of the sea,” Kaia will feature an array of fresh handroll selections and chef pairings, including specialties such as lobster truffle, blue crab and bluefin tuna as well as classic and vegetarian options. The destination will also offer sashimi varieties, dessert, tea, sake, Japanese beer, to-go options and more.
