Location: Inside the historic courtroom on the second floor.
Cost: Free for Museum Members or with Museum admission. For more information or to RSVP, click here.
Description: Modern Las Vegas is largely the product of visionaries who gambled that this remote desert outpost could be transformed from a Mob playground into an international resort destination. Parry Thomas turned a small bank into a catalyst for the burgeoning casino industry. William Bennett mastered the techniques for bringing middle America to Las Vegas. Steve Wynn and Kirk Kerkorian’s creativity and financial wizardry led Las Vegas into the megaresort age. Veteran Las Vegas journalist Jack Sheehan interviewed them all, and he will share stories and insights from his 40 years of chronicling the Las Vegas story. Guest speakers will include Diana Bennett, daughter of casino owner William Bennett, and Peter Thomas, son of Las Vegas banker Parry Thomas.
Speakers:
Jack Sheehan, a veteran Las Vegas journalist, has been a professional writer in Las Vegas for more than 40 years. He has written more than 1,000 magazine articles on a range of topics and published 18 books, covering sports, entertainment, business and politics, including biographies of Las Vegas industry icons Parry Thomas and William Bennett. He will be joined by guest speakers Diana Bennett, daughter of William Bennett, and Peter Thomas, son of Parry Thomas, who will offer personal perspectives on the visionaries who shaped the city’s transformation into a global resort destination.

- Berry The Evidence – Berry The Evidence mixes Los Vecinos Mezcal with lychee, agave and fresh lime, muddled with blackberries for a lively, fruit-forward finish. This jazzy little number is shaken and served up in a coupe, dressed to the nines with a lychee and blackberry skewer.
- Silent Testimony – Silent Testimony stirs up Myers’s Dark Rum with Aperol, passion fruit, velvet falernum and lime for a smooth, citrus-kissed sip with a hint of intrigue. Served over ice, it’s the kind of drink that keeps the secrets flowing long after last call.
- The Gilded Alibi – The Gilded Alibi pairs Sazerac Rye with Heirloom Pineapple Amaro, ginger liqueur and aromatic bitters for a polished, spirit-forward pour. Stirred and served in a classic cocktail glass, it’s a proper cover story—smooth, sharp and just a touch daring.
- Golden Handshake – Golden Handshake features Buffalo Trace Bourbon with lemon, simple syrup, orange juice and parfait amour for a bright, citrus-laced cocktail with a flirt of floral sweetness. Shaken and served over ice, it’s a swell send-off—or a convincing last word.

ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND
The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history exhibition featuring a speakeasy, distillery and private VIP room in the basement of The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits but also had a profound, lasting impact on society, specifically making way for modern cocktail culture.
