LAS VEGAS (January 2026) – The Las Vegas chapter of the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) announces it is accepting new members into its four-year program for the 2026-27 schoolyear. YMSL is a national organization offering a distinctive opportunity for moms and their high school-aged sons in grades 9 – 12 to strengthen their bond while engaging in meaningful community service and leadership development.
Each young man and his mom must complete 20 service hours throughout each year of membership; the Las Vegas YMSL chapter has 24 ongoing charitable partners, including Catholic Charities, Children’s Discovery Museum, F.E.A.T. of Southern Nevada, Just One Project, Miracle League, Ronald McDonald House and Spread the Word, just to name a few.
In addition to serving volunteer hours around the community, YMSL also hosts monthly meetings, which bring grade-level young men together to develop leadership skills and learn from expert speakers. Each young man serves a role within the organization, and together, they run the meetings and take turns presenting the group topics related to life skills and leadership. Their moms also attend monthly meetings, and every mom serves on a committee as well.
“Our organization empowers young men to explore their communities, develop leadership skills and learn the transformative power of being of service to others,” said Suzette Miranda, vice president of membership, YMSL Las Vegas chapter. “The experience and confidence they gain as well as the bonds they form leave a lasting impact, preparing them to make a meaningful difference in the world.”
Prospective members with sons currently in 8th grade who wish to learn more about membership for the upcoming 2026-27 school year can visit www.ymsllasvegas.org and click on “Contact Membership” or email suzette@suzettelagrange.com.
