RENO, NEVADA (July 2020) – In honor of “DOGust First,” the universal birthday for all shelter and rescue dogs, THRIVE Cannabis Marketplace’s Reno location is partnering with Nevada Humane Society for a fundraising and virtual adoption event, July 31 through Aug. 2. The participating store is located at 7300 South Virginia Street, Reno, Nevada 89511.

Displayed on TV screens throughout the store’s waiting room will be rotating images of Nevada Humane Society’s shelter dogs available for adoption. Accompanying each photo will be the animal’s name and a website link with additional information and an adoption application.

In addition, for every 1/8 oz of Black Beauty cannabis purchased, THRIVE will donate two dollars directly to Nevada Humane Society.

Through August 29, THRIVE Cannabis Marketplace’s Reno location will also be partnering with Nevada Humane Society as a Plucky Partner for the organization’s annual Duck Race designated to raise essential funds to care and provide homes for pets in need. To encourage customers to purchase rubber ducks and be entered to win prizes, informational postcards will be available throughout the store.

“We are pleased to support the Nevada Humane Society on the occasion of DOGust First,” said Mitch Britten, founder and chief executive officer, THRIVE. “All of us at THRIVE are grateful for the extraordinary care and countless adoptions the organization facilitates, ensuring these deserving animals find forever homes.”

Since 2007, Nevada Humane Society has saved the lives of more than 100,000 pets in Northern Nevada. As the state’s only open-admission, no-kill shelter, Nevada Humane Society continues to promote animal welfare while finding homes and providing care for homeless pets.
