LAS VEGAS (July 2025) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is inviting the public to play a role in preserving Las Vegas history. In an effort to further enrich its nationally acclaimed collection, the Museum is calling for rare, original artifacts that capture the essence of the city’s Mob-era legacy.
The Museum is particularly interested in acquiring distinctive, one-of-a-kind artifacts with compelling backstories—objects that capture the grit, glamour and underworld intrigue of Mob-era Vegas. Desirable items could include glamorous showgirl costumes or well-preserved casino uniforms, musical instruments played by iconic entertainers, vintage vehicles driven by infamous mobsters, casino equipment used in illicit operations or personal belongings tied to legendary underworld and law enforcement figures.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the public to contribute to the cultural fabric of our community and see their treasured pieces of Las Vegas history preserved and become part of an accredited and award-winning Museum’s collection,” said Geoff Schumacher, vice president of exhibits and programs, The Mob Museum. “Artifacts will not only be showcased for the hundreds of thousands of guests who visit the Museum each year but also will help tell the story of an important chapter of our city’s history for generations to come.”
The call for artifacts is open through August 31, 2025, and individuals who own—or know of—extraordinary pieces of Las Vegas history are encouraged not to delay and to complete the form available at themobmuseum.org/call-for-las-vegas-artifacts. All submissions will be carefully reviewed by the Museum’s curatorial team, and individuals whose items are selected will be contacted directly.
