BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, UTAH (December 2020) – Discover the magic and majesty of the season at Bryce Canyon National Park with a winter stay at The Lodge at Bryce Canyon—the only overnight accommodation inside the park. Bookings are available now through Dec. 30 at the property’s Sunset Lodge. Food and restaurant services are not available at the lodge.

In addition to offering its extraordinary landscape features and giant, natural amphitheater, Bryce Canyon offers unbelievable stargazing opportunities at night. The National Park Service will host a Constellation Tour on Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5, and also hosts daily Hoodoo Geology Talks in the park daily. Daily Rim Walks are offered daily as well. For more information about National Park Service programs, visit www.nps.gov/brca.

Located at an elevation of 8,000 feet atop a high plateau, Bryce Canyon National Park frequently receives substantial snowfall this time of year. Visitors should be prepared for winter driving conditions and for weather to change abruptly with little notice. Chains, snow tires and four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended and required during winter storms.

To comply with current public health guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), state and local public health authorities, the lodge will open with certain operational changes, including offering limited accommodations.

In addition to using cleaning and sanitizing chemicals recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the lodge has implemented the following supplemental standard operating procedures:

  • Increased cleaning and sanitizing frequency for all public and staff areas.
  • Sanitizing stations located throughout the property for employee and guest use and are checked frequently.
  • Public touch points such as doorknobs, railings and faucets are cleaned and sanitized multiple times throughout the day.
  • Public surfaces such as counters and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • All guest room surfaces are sanitized thoroughly prior to new guest arrivals.
  • Increased staff training and awareness regarding maintaining cleanliness and hygiene as related to current public health considerations.
