LAS VEGAS (March 2026) – As “May the Fourth [Be With You]” (May 4) continues its rise as a pop culture holiday paying homage to the beloved galactic film franchise, the Wedding Capital of the World™ is transforming the celebration into a full-scale destination wedding phenomenon. In recent years, couples from around the country have come to Las Vegas to say “I do” in ceremonies inspired by one of the most iconic and memorable phrases in cinematic history.
What began as an amusing novelty has evolved into a full-blown wedding trend, as couples increasingly seek out nuptials that double as immersive, story-driven experiences. Las Vegas, long known for its ease, accessibility and flair for matrimonial spectacle, proves it is uniquely qualified to turn that demand into an unforgettable tribute to their favorite space-themed sets and characters.
“Couples today want more than a ceremony—they want a moment that reflects who they are and what they love,” said Lynn Marie Goya, Clark County Clerk who oversees the Wedding Capital of the World weddings tourism promotion campaign. “Las Vegas has always delivered on that promise, and now we’re observing the rise of weddings as shared cultural experiences. ‘May the Fourth [Be With You]’ is a perfect example of how we can turn a global fandom into a reason to travel, celebrate and get married here.”
Across the destination, wedding chapels and venues are reporting increased interest in May 4 ceremonies, with themed packages designed to attract out-of-state couples looking to combine their wedding with a one-of-a-kind Las Vegas experience.
Among the offerings:
- The Collective Las Vegas offers two packages, including “A New Hope” Elopement, an intentionally timed, 4:04 p.m. ceremony featuring themed vows, a lightsaber arch exit, “The Force Binds Them” unity ritual and a desert backdrop evoking a galaxy far, far away. Priced at $1,977 to match the year the original film was released. The “Imperial Luxury Wedding” Premium Experience provides a larger-format celebration for up to 75 guests including a full reception, galaxy ceiling projections, “Binary Sunset” ceremony music and themed cocktails.
- Cactus Collective Weddings is offering an exclusive wedding package available for just four couples, who will be whisked away to a cinematic dry Nevada lakebed for a one-day, highly curated elopement inspired by sci-fi romance. The setting includes sculptural white pillars, modern white florals and a custom narrative vow exchange officiated by a character-inspired “galactic royal” minister.
- The Little Vegas Chapel’s “Yoda One For Me” package is popular with couples seeking a playful but polished experience, combining costuming, curated music, professional photography and extended photo sessions folded into a compact destination wedding format.
- Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel offers a theatrical “Intergalactic Force Package” featuring a Darth Vader officiant, complete with themed décor and vows, smoke and fog effects, limousine service, full multimedia documentation and the couple’s name in lights on their jumbo Las Vegas Boulevard marquee—turning the ceremony into a shareable moment for couples and their guests back home.
For many couples, these themed ceremonies provide a built-in guest experience—something Las Vegas excels at delivering—while simplifying logistics through inclusive packages and a streamlined marriage license process.
“Las Vegas removes the friction from wedding planning while adding a level of creativity that’s hard to replicate anywhere else,” added Goya. “Whether it’s a themed celebration, a luxury event or a spontaneous elopement, we continue to exemplify what a destination wedding can be.”
With its blend of accessibility, value, cultural relevance and an enormous range of price points suited for every couple, Las Vegas remains unmatched in its ability to turn moments on the calendar into reasons to celebrate and excuses to enjoy a getaway. For couples this May 4, the Force may be strong, but the pull of Las Vegas is even stronger.
