EARLY SNOWFALL TURNS THE LODGE AT BRYCE CANYON INTO WINTER WONDERLAND,
JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, UTAH (November 2019) – Snowfall has turned The Lodge at Bryce Canyon—the only overnight accommodations inside Bryce Canyon National Park—into a winter wonderland, making it a perfect getaway for the holiday season and throughout the winter months. The Lodge offers limited winter availability, with 30 rooms at its Sunset Motel open through Jan. 2, 2020. The Lodge will resume its full operations schedule on March 27, 2020.

Sunset Motel rooms are positioned just steps from the rim of Bryce Canyon. Their cozy,  Arts and Crafts era-inspired, U.S.-made oak and hickory furniture was made in the United States from sustainable or renewable resources, according to the Forest Stewardship Council. Décor inside the rooms was inspired by the colors and patterns used by the area’s Southern Paiute tribe. All rooms have either one king or two queen beds accommodating up to five guests in queen rooms and three guests in king rooms. Other amenities include semi-private porches and balconies, refrigerators, microwaves and coffeemakers.

While staying at The Lodge at Bryce Canyon during wintertime, guests will discover the magic and majesty of this tranquil season at Bryce Canyon National Park. In addition to offering its extraordinary landscape features and giant, natural amphitheater, the park offers unbelievable stargazing opportunities at night. Special winter programs offered by the National Park Service at Bryce Canyon include: the Christmas Bird Count, Dec. 21, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. This free event allows visitors to join experienced birders and become “citizen scientists,” assessing the health of the park’s bird populations and helping to guide future conservation action. Part of the National Audubon Society’s annual event, now in its 120^th year, the annual Christmas bird count brings together volunteers across the United States, South America, Canada and distant Pacific islands.

Guests who visit Bryce Canyon during winter months should be prepared for winter conditions; the park is situated at an 8,000-foot elevation and regularly experiences below-freezing temperatures and moderate snowfall from October through March.

All rooms are priced at $131/night for double occupancy with a $10 charge for each additional guest. Rollaway beds and cribs are available (a $15 charge for rollaways applies). Light continental breakfast is included with each room night.
