LAS VEGAS (September 2025) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will debut The Starlight Plaza on Friday, Oct. 10, inviting guests to step into a dazzling new cocktail and event destination in downtown Las Vegas. The seasonal outdoor lounge and entertainment venue will capture the glamour and spectacle of Las Vegas’ Golden Age, blending handcrafted drinks, live music, artwork and public programming.

The Starlight Plaza will feature a beverage program curated by the Museum’s Senior Director of Food and Beverage Clint Thoman, who is also responsible for the cocktail program in The Underground speakeasy and distillery. Signature selections will include The Starlight, a vibrant vodka and hibiscus tea blend; The Headliner, a gin-based sip infused with elderflower and snow pea syrup; and Bet on Red, a refreshing mix of tequila, amaro, vermouth and watermelon. Non-alcoholic creations will include The N/A Starlight, a refreshing combination of hibiscus tea, rhubarb, lemon, sugar and club soda, and the Sky Ranch Spritz, a bright mix of non-alcoholic aperitif, lemon, sugar and bitters. As a nod to vintage Vegas, the Golden Age Menu (available for a limited time) will feature classic cocktails, and limited beer and wines for $5 between 5 and 7 p.m.

Live entertainment will further set the mood, with music inspired by Las Vegas legends like the Rat Pack, Liberace, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley and Lena Horne. Guests will be able to enjoy Latin jazz every other Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., while other live bands will take the stage select weekend evenings during the same hours.

The October live entertainment calendar includes:

  • Friday, Oct. 10: Jennifer Keith
  • Saturday, Oct. 11: Coco On The Rocks
  • Sunday, Oct. 12: Michael Ross Nugent
  • Thursday, Oct. 16: Rick Arroyo (First Latin Night)
  • Saturday, Oct. 18: Mimi & The Rivieras
  • Sunday, Oct. 19: Sandy & The Knightcaps
  • Saturday, Oct. 25: Straight Ahead
  • Sunday, Oct. 26: Glo Vivelo
  • Thursday, Oct. 30: Sip & Smoke Cigar Night with Space to Pace
    • Back by popular demand, The Starlight Plaza welcomes cigar aficionados to enjoy a fall evening at dusk, complete with Latin jazz by Las Vegas’ own Space to Pace, fine cigars, hand crafted cocktails and refreshing mocktails. As a special offer, each cocktail or mocktail purchase comes with a complimentary cigar. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own cigars to enjoy throughout the night. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.
  • Friday, Oct. 31: Halloween at The Mob Museum with Mimi & The Rivieras
    • Halloween returns to The Mob Museum’s Underground speakeasy and outdoor Starlight Plaza for a haunting bash with specialty craft cocktails, a costume contest and live music. Mimi and the Rivieras play The Starlight Plaza and Coco and The Sidecars play The Underground.

The space will also showcase eight large-scale murals by Las Vegas artist Derek Douglas, known professionally as SNIPT. His mixed-media works will celebrate the entertainers, spectacles, showgirls, Rat Pack, gamblers, iconic Strip resorts and Fremont Street’s Glitter Gulch that shaped the city’s rise as the Entertainment Capital of the World.

“Every detail of The Starlight Plaza has been designed to channel the energy of vintage Las Vegas,” said Ashley Miller, Vice President of Marketing, Communication and Sales for The Mob Museum. “From the cocktails to the music to the art, guests will feel transported to an era when the city first captured the world’s imagination.”

Open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., The Starlight Plaza will welcome all ages until 5 p.m., when the venue transforms into a 21+ destination. Guests will be able to enjoy daytime relaxation, evening revelry and an ongoing calendar of historical and cultural programming in a space designed with breezeblock motifs, midcentury color palettes and nostalgic signage created by world-renowned sign company YESCO.
